Walton launches laptop packaging design contest

Walton Digi-Tech Industries Limited launched a creative campaign titled ‘Walton Laptop Packaging Design Contest’ at a programme held at Walton corporate office in the capital on Saturday.

The campaign has been started with the slogan 'The World Will See Your Talent' and will run till November 30, said a press release. The company has announced a total of Tk 3 lakh and 80 thousand cash rewards for the top 13 contestants.

Among the winners first, second and third will get Tk 2 lakh, Tk 50,000 and Tk 30,000 respectively while the rest of the 10 winners will be given Tk 10,000 each.

Prof Nisar Hossain, dean of the faculty of Fine Arts of University of Dhaka, was present as the chief guest at the function while Prof Sheikh Afzal Hossain, Chairman of the department of Drawing and Painting of University of Dhaka, Prof Shishir Bhattacharjee of the same department, and Walton Digi-Tech Industries Limited chairman SM Rezaul Alam were present as the special guests.

In his speech, Prof Nisar Hossain said that people accept all activities of Walton as it is now competing in the global arena. This countrywide talent-hunt program of Walton is a praiseworthy initiative through which new talents will come out with new developed ideas. It’s an innovative step of Walton to find out country’s talents.

Prof Sheikh Afzal Hossain said Bangladesh now has high-quality digital devices. Especially Walton is producing various hi-tech products. Such activities will be very helpful in developing sophisticated products.

Prof Shishir Bhattacharjee said talent needs ample opportunity to develop. Walton Laptop Packaging Design Competition is open to everyone. He believes that attractive designs and designers will come out from different parts of the country through this contest.

SM Rezaul Alam said Walton has introduced this campaign as it wants to ensure producing global standards products.

He expects that standard packaging designs will come out from this which will represent Bangladesh in the global market.

Students of different universities virtually participated in the ‘Walton Laptop Packaging Design Contest’ launching event.

First Senior Deputy Operative Director Abul Kalam Azad said that this design contest is open to all. The contestants can submit multiple designs.

Every design is to be judged by a panel of judges and they will select the top 13 winners.
